Have you ever got a car title loan? what should I expect?

Hello I made the worse decision to not save my money. Now i'm deciding to move into my first apartment and I need a down payment and 1st months rent. I could keep up with the bills and loan its just that I don't have all of the money in one lump-some. Is this something I should do at this moment? Also how long are the loans usually for? Do you have to pay it back in a couple or weeks or months? I'm confused on part. And i'm from illinois if that helps.
